Providence Heart & Vascular Institute has received the highest rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for its heart surgery program for the fourth consecutive year. Providence has formed a partnership with SleepMed, Inc., to provide sleep disorder diagnostic services. Tameika Hunter, a licensed practical nurse with the hospital’s Intermediate Care Unit, has been selected as the 2010 recipient of the Caritas Nursing Scholarship. Jeff Bopp has been named the hospitals’ employee of the year.

Dr. Joseph G. Carew has been named president-elect of the SC Chiropractic Association.
