January 07-From the Editor

It's an exciting time for all of us at Columbia Metropolitan magazine. The start of 2007 brings a brand new year and several exciting changes for us and for our readers. Columbia Metropolitan is moving on up! And by that I mean we are literally moving our offices, and we are publishing two more issues for you this year.
After more than 14 years of doing business on Devine Street, we are packing it all up and setting up shop at 3700 Forest Drive in the Landmark II building. A brand new office space with a fresh coat of paint and new carpet has our staff energized to keep giving you the highest quality and best read magazine in the city.
But the most exciting news for our readers is that Columbia Metropolitan will now be published 10 times a year. Whether you get the magazine by subscribing, through a gift from Time Warner Cable, from the newsstands or from our new kiosks around town, you'll find that these additional issues will give you more timely articles, and our advertisers will have more visibility.
Our city is thriving, and we at Columbia Metropolitan are happy to be able to provide you with a more up-to-date city magazine. Every day, we learn of new businesses that are opening and great people from our city who are turning heads. Each issue, we strive to let you know about the people, homes, businesses, charities and issues of our city. We are your city magazine … so keep in touch with us so we can keep our readers updated to the best of our ability.
With all that said, here's your January 2007 issue, which brings our annual Best of Columbia contest winners. The list starts on page 42 and gives you a complete listing of 142 of the best businesses around town. Need to know where to get the best women's shoes? Well, our readers agree that Kicks Exceptional Shoes is the place to get them. Looking to dine at Columbia's best restaurant? Dianne's on Devine takes first place this year. It's all there on this year's Best of Columbia list … anything you need to know — just turn the pages and scope it all out.
Enjoy the issue and come see us on Forest Drive when you're in the neighborhood.

Sincerely,

Emily Tinch
