February 07-From the Editor

Beth and Phil Wilson had quite a year last year – one daughter was married in February, another was married in June, a third was married in October and the fourth daughter became engaged just before Christmas. Although the Wilsons say this is typical for their family – they had three in diapers and, later, three in college at one time — I hope they find some much needed rest in 2007 when all four daughters are happily married. Meet the Wilson family in this issue's Guide to Tying the Knot and learn how they got organized, laughed and celebrated each daughter's wedding with individual style. Whether you have just gotten engaged, hope to be engaged one day or are celebrating your golden anniversary, I am sure the numerous stories from Columbia brides in this year's Guide to Tying the Knot will inspire you. Don't miss the valuable resource guide at the end of the section offering local vendor information to help make your big day perfect.
For those readers whose newlywed days are just a fond memory and are currently in the thick of parenthood, let us introduce to you a new business in town that will save your life on rainy days or any day your child needs to wiggle and squirm. Lisette Volz developed a winning idea and opened Leapin' Lizards, a huge kids activity center with inflatables where children can play and be creative. For all you parents who haven't been there, this place is fabulous! The only downside is convincing your child to leave when it is time to go. With bright colors, a dress up area, grocery store, art center, books and more, it's a child's dream. Parents love it, too, because of the cushy seating scattered around that enable Mom and Dad to have a little "toes up time" while the kids are entertained.
And for those readers who are so busy planning a wedding or raising children or whatever it may be, we also introduce to you a new franchise in the Northeast called Let's Dish. If you find that you don't have as much time to cook as you would like, Let's Dish is the perfect place for you. Just schedule a time to go and "dish" up some fabulous meals in only a couple of hours. All the prep work is done -- you simply assemble the meals, take them home and put them in the freezer for the future.
I hope these articles enable you to celebrate, be playful, indulge and enjoy the issue!

Sincerely,
