The Mardi Gras Gala is an annual event of the Epilepsy Foundation of South Carolina. The Gala is a festive costume/formal dinner and dance, which mirrors the activities and celebrations of traditional "Fat Tuesday" events. The highlight of the Gala is the crowning of a prominent community leader as the "Mardi Gras King/Queen," The festive occasion will feature roaming musicians, jugglers, and magicians. A French Creole style dinner menu, an open bar, Dixieland-style music and fabulous dance music set the stage for a Mardi Gras Festival atmosphere, complete with a parade, extravagant decorations, beads, feathers, masks, and golden doubloons.

The second –A La Red Cross- An Evening with Chef Marvin Woods silent and live auction to benefit the American Red Cross of Central South Carolina takes place Feb. 8, 2008. Our very special guest is award-winning celebrity TV chef, Marvin Woods. Chef Woods will conduct a cooking demonstration followed by a luncheon.  There will also be silent and live auctions in the evening. The American Red Cross provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. All American Red Cross disaster relief assistance is free of charge.
